Product description
Our horse bedding pellets are made from pure pine softwood and produced at high temperature, which gives a clean, low-dust product with a fresh pine scent. When water is added, the pellets expand and break down into a soft, cushioning bed.
Why yards switch to pellet bedding
- Highly absorbent – holds several times more liquid than shavings, so wet patches stay contained and easy to remove.
- Less mucking out and less waste – only droppings and wet spots are lifted, so far less bedding is thrown away.
- Lower ammonia levels – a drier bed helps keep the stable air fresher and supports healthy hooves.
- Low dust – suitable for horses and riders sensitive to dusty bedding.
- Compact storage – bagged pellets take up a fraction of the space of straw or shaving bales and stay dry on a pallet.
- Easy disposal – used bedding is biodegradable and composts quickly for use on fields or gardens.
Typical set-up for a 12 × 12 ft stable
- Spread around 6–8 bags evenly over the floor.
- Sprinkle with water (roughly 10 litres per bag) and leave for 20–30 minutes to expand.
- Rake the bed level to a depth of 10–15 cm and bank the sides if preferred.
- Daily: remove droppings and wet spots, rake over and top up with a bag as needed.
